Swimming Lessons

What swimming lessons are on offer?

At Volair, we offer swimming lessons for all levels, from babies to adults. Our programme caters for all.  Our swim program adheres to Swim England’s Learn to Swim Teaching Plan, providing a structured, nationally recognised pathway to swimming proficiency.  In short,it’s the best way to teach children to swim.

The Discovery Duckling Awards are the first step into swimming lessons for babies, toddlers and pre-school children. These sessions help young children gain water confidence while staying close to an adult for support, with awards to celebrate progress.

Duckling Awards build on Discovery Ducklings, helping children start moving in the water and gradually develop key skills. Each of the four Duckling Awards has its own certificate and badge, encouraging independence and confidence as children prepare for the next stage.

Our Learn 2 Swim stages run from Stage 1 through Stage 10. Stages 1–7 are ideal for children aged 5 and above, progressing from basic movement skills to strong, confident swimming. Stages 8–10 support swimmers who have developed core fundamentals and are ready to refine technique and versatility in the water.

Adult swimming lessons are available for anyone aged 16 and above, whether you’re learning to swim for the first time, improving your stroke, or looking to build confidence in the water. Your first session includes an initial assessment and personalised swim plan with your instructor.

Discovery Ducklings

The Discovery Duckling Awards are the start of the learn to swim experience for all children. These awards are perfect for babies and toddlers and pre-school children who are new to swimming lessons.

Ideal for gaining water confidence while staying close to adult support, these awards are followed by the existing Duckling Awards. The Discovery Duckling Awards 1-4 each have their own certificate and badge.

Start your swim journey with structured lessons for all ages and abilities. Our programme follows the nationally recognised Swim England Learn to Swim pathway, helping build water confidence and solid swimming skills from Discovery Ducklings through to advanced stages and adult lessons.

My daughter was nervous about the water, but the swim team have completely transformed her confidence. The small class sizes meant she got the attention she needed, and now she can’t wait for her lessons each week! She’s already earned two badges and we’re so proud.
