GP Referral
Activity for Life is a 12-week GP referral programme supporting people with health conditions to become more active, safely and confidently.
About Activity for Life
Activity for Life (AfL) is a 12-week physical activity referral programme available at Volair clubs, designed to help local people manage existing health conditions through physical activity.
Participants are supported by our experienced AfL team, who help increase activity levels, build confidence and encourage long-term lifestyle change. Each participant begins with a one-to-one assessment to create a personalised activity plan, followed by ongoing support throughout the programme.
As part of Activity for Life, participants have access to:
- Weekly AfL group gym sessions
- Weekly group exercise classes, including cardio, tai chi and balance classes
- Unlimited access to swimming
Our approach focuses on safe, supported activity in a welcoming environment, helping people move more and feel better as part of their Active Health journey.

My daughter was nervous about the water, but the Swim Academy team have completely transformed her confidence. The small class sizes meant she got the attention she needed, and now she can’t wait for her lessons each week! She’s already earned two badges and we’re so proud.
